I've been training for over 25 years now. In that time my weight has ballooned up and gone down. It's never been about putting in the hard work for me. Food is my weakness, perhaps my crutch. The pandemic became the perfect storm for weight gain with everything, including gyms being closed. Having a young child late in life lit a fire under me, and so I sought advice from Mike. Mike is a skilled and knowledgeable pro. I built my own home gym and under his guidance I've lost 50 pounds in 6 and 1/2 months. I've received several compliments on my progress and have no plans on stopping. I'm thankful for Mike's help and am excited to see just how far I can push myself physically.

On July 5th, 2005, I went to work as normal, until I put on my uniform and my duty belt. I put on my belt and it popped open, so I tried doing it up again, and once again it popped open. At that point I realized I was way too heavy. I was finally able to get my belt done up, but during my whole shift it kept popping open. I told myself that was it and tomorrow I was going to get a personal trainer.
On July 6th, 2005, I met with personal trainer Michael Amernic and I had my first weigh in. I was 242lbs, the heaviest I have ever weighed.
When I first met Michael I was nervous, but I was ready and determined to lose the weight. Michael's knowledge of the human body and fitness, made understanding the exercises and machines very easy. He was very supportive throughout the workouts and encouraging.
The first couple of months the workouts were so hard. I would finish my workout and cardio and be so tired, that I would rush home to sleep for a couple of hours. It was amazing seeing the results as days, weeks and months went by.
In February 2006, six months after I started working out with Michael I weighed in at 162lbs. I was so proud of myself and grateful for Michael, I had lost 80lbs. At first I never thought it was going to be possible, but training with Michael and the determination I had made it possible. Thank you Michael!!!

My journey towards better nutrition, exercise and better health in general began in 2004. Having a gym at your workplace is truly a great advantage and even more so when your employer hires a professional trainer like Michael Amernic to train you, guide you, and to help you attain your goals.
I began training one-on-one with Michael in 2011, I also started going to his boot camp class once a week. Later I got so encouraged by the results that I began going twice a week. One of the things I like about Michael is that he is well-organized, responsible, reliable and he will always commit to you and help you reach your goals, as long as you commit to them yourself. Michael will always make sure that you do his workouts with proper technique and posture in order to protect yourself and be safe at all times and he will adjust your workout depending on how much progress you make towards your goal. He also shares his vast knowledge about fitness, as well as tips on nutrition to make the most of your training program.
I quickly realized that exercising was not only helping my health, but also my mood. I went down from a tight size 34' to a loose size 32', and my body fat percentage, which Michael can measure and calculate, went down from 22.7% to a lean 13.9%. It felt really good when I compared the results from my "after" photo with the "before" photo I took from a year ago. With Michael's help I'm now going after more!

As an endocrinologist, I advise many of my patients on the importance of proper nutrition and exercise. When it came to my own exercise program, I turned to Michael Amernic for help. I outlined my goals to Michael and he designed an appropriate, high-intensity training program for me to meet them. During our sessions he would frequently advise me on the correct weight-bearing techniques to ensure maximum efficiency and safety. He would also often challenge me with slight changes to the program to further fine tune results. He wrote out the program so I could continue exercising on my own between our sessions. As I progressed and began to notice good results, he modified my program with increased intensity.
I am very happy with the exercise program Michael developed for me and I have definitely noted the desired results – improved cardiovascular fitness, improved muscle strength, a lower % body fat and lower weight!

After seeing the positive results my co-workers achieved, I knew I was ready for some one-on-one training with Michael. He designed a program to help me achieve the goals I had set for myself. Within a few weeks my strength, energy and metabolism increased, while my body fat decreased noticably. He taught me how to do a complete workout at home with minimal equipment and at the gym with the equipment available. Regardless of the type of equipment you have at your facility, it's all about proper technique. You'll see results much faster if you do each exercise properly. Seeing results is the best motivation you'll ever have.

I have been training with Mike for a little over a year now. Last Christmas I was given the best gift ever of 6 personal training sessions. It was a turning point in my life and has certainly made a positive impact.
When I started, I had a significant amount of weight to lose. I made some attempts in the past, but I lacked direction when I actually got myself into the gym. From my first session with Mike I was comfortable with him as he assessed my fitness level (or rather lack thereof). He observed my strengths and weakness and asked about any limitations. He developed an appropriate workout plan designed to increase my strength using exercises I could safely perform. During my personal training sessions, Mike focused on teaching me the correct form for exercises so I wouldn’t injure myself when I worked on my own. Now I had direction. I knew exactly what to do when I hit the gym on my own and I wasn’t wasting my time looking around wondering ‘What next?’.
Soon, I discovered a passion for working out and started seeing results quickly. I easily lost the first 10 pounds during the 6 weeks of my first program. By the end of the second, I was seeing significant changes in my body in terms of strength and the way my clothes fit. People were starting to notice the changes and I was receiving positive comments that made my motivation soar!!
With each new program Mike gives me, there are new physical demands and challenges designed to build on the gains I made in the previous programs. And my personal training sessions are always productive. Mike answers whatever questions I have, and shows me alternate exercises to work around any physical issues I am having.
Now, a year later, I have lost over 50 pounds and I look and feel so much better. My self-confidence has returned and I am taking on new challenges in other areas of my life. The only down side is that I have had to buy an entirely new wardrobe!!

As a 53 year old male who hadn't really exercised since high school, I woke up one day and decided that I needed to get serious about exercise and take some action.
Along came Michael. He visited our office one day to conduct physical assessments. We have the convenience of a gym in our office, so I took up the offer. My goal was to work out some pains by building muscle and hopefully lose some weight. I've been successful with the muscle building and am confident the weight loss will come.
Training with Michael gives me the discipline I need to actually work out. He is truly a subject matter expert and you need a subject matter expert when you are learning to exercise. I highly recommend Michael if you are thinking about a trainer.

When I first saw my new trainer, I was pretty apprehensive. How would I fare in a workout prepared by someone so professionally…sculpted? Fortunately, I’d already made up my mind about training, and I decided I would respect what he proposed for me. I quickly learned two things: Mike lived what he preached and he really wanted me to understand the goals we were working towards.
Mike is always teaching and informing as I work, keeping the tone light with examples and anecdotes. He never misses a chance to tell me how an exercise is working for me, and explains the process in simple terms so that I can isolate the targeted muscle groups and concentrate on how to perform the exercise without being confused.
I never feel rushed with him and he makes me feel as if I am his only client. He is organized and his pre-planning keeps the sessions moving along at a good pace.
His workouts incorporate strength training, cardio, balance exercises and flexibility in a variety of ways. I am comfortable with situps, pushups, planks and pullups in a way that I never was before. I am particularly happy with the improved strength in my core muscles and the noticeable slimming in this part of my body.
Mike understands anatomy, physiology and nutrition. My workouts have been appropriately modified so that there is a minimum of interruption when I have been injured or undergone surgery. My first session with Mike was 2 years ago and I have not looked back.

Michael has been my personal trainer for approximately six years. Originally I wanted a trainer to assist me in learning proper weight training techniques and also, to set up a program for me, as I had noticed when reaching 40 that my metabolism had changed and I was starting to gain weight in places that had never been an issue before.
I have to say, that what I received from Michael was all of the above and so much more…hence the reason that I have continued to have him train me. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable, attentive and safety conscious. Michael came to know me, and was able to push me to work harder and achieve results that I would never have been able to achieve on my own. Michael has a passion for exercise which I unfortunately I do not share….but my feelings have changed enough to ensure that exercise is now a regular part of my life. Even on those days where the gym was the last place I wanted to be, he managed to get me into a mind set where I wanted to be there. There wasn’t a session where I didn’t leave feeling a lot better for being there and with a sense of accomplishment. In addition I had an aversion to cardio. He found the “right” cardio equipment for me and it actually became something that I enjoy and low and behold I continue to use it regularly.
Bottom line, I am in better shape now at the age of 48 than I have ever been. I am confident when I work out on my own that I am exercising and lifting weights with a correct technique. I have incorporated exercise into my life and feel confident that I will keep doing so for the rest of my life. I owe this to Michael, I never would have done this without his drive, determination, assistance and coaching. He is the best!!!

On June 30th, 2009, I decided that I would start my fitness program with my personal trainer Michael Amernic with one session a week and 2-3 sessions on my own at home. At that time, I didn’t feel I had a lot of energy, my weight was 185 lbs and I wore a very tight waste size 34. My goal was simple: I didn’t care about losing weight and I didn’t want to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I wanted to lose at least 1 full belt size (e.g. a loose 34” waste size) by the end of the year and have a few more muscles.
On Christmas Eve, during our family gathering at my home, my sister who I hadn’t seen since July, told me that I looked better and that I had lost weight. Well it was in fact true, I have lost 10 lbs and 1 full belt size! Not only that I felt better, more energy and perhaps more importantly I didn’t feel any pain in my joints and especially in my neck which I suffer from some arthritis.
I've not been able to exercise regularly since the beginning of the year but I'm now getting back to my regular routine and I hope to lose another belt size before next Christmas. Thank you Michael!!!”

I first contacted Michael because my sister was getting married and I wanted to tone up for her wedding. It was going to be a temporary thing but as soon as I began working out with Michael I began to see results almost immediately and I was encouraged by the change in my body. He created easy to follow programs and listened to my challenges and adapted my programs when needed. We were meeting regularly and it became an easy addition to my regular routine. I was hooked. I enjoy the challenge of my new workouts every 6 weeks and appreciated the positive feedback and encouragement that I receive from Michael.
It has been 9 months since I began my training and I feel stronger and firmer every day and feel comfortable in the gym whether I am with Michael or working out on my own. My husband and I had been working out together for some time now on our own routines and programs. Our workouts consisted of various different programs from the Beachbody library being Turbo Jam, P90X with Tony Horton and Chalean Extreme. Over the course of our training, we have had great success but it came time for a change and we wanted to try something different and seeing the positive results of our co-workers, it was easy to transition over to starting a training regiment with Michael.
Michael provided us with a customized program to help us get to our next level of fitness. Just after a few sessions we both noticed considerable changes in our strength, endurance and stamina. After experiencing Michael’s boot camps I knew the decision to pursue personal training with him would get me the results I was looking for.
The experience that I have shared with my friends and work colleagues is that Michael provides a positive environment on which he builds momentum and confidence in his clients. His ongoing assessments are very accurate and tailored; he has a lot of knowledge that he shares. He carefully crafts the right amount of challenge and that resulted in my having a positive fitness journey.
Since I began my “muscular & cardio adaptation” 6 months ago, I have successfully changed my body composition: I’ve lost weight; improved muscle strength; endurance; and have lost a total of 8 ½” in my perimeter body measurements. To say the least, I’m proud of my success.
